Inspiring Midlife Travelers
I’m Elizabeth, a fellow midlife traveler. We’re the in-betweeners; we may not identify as young and carefree, but we’re not quite senior citizens either. We’ve reached a stage in life where our careers are (mostly) established, our joints are (mostly) functioning well, and a newfound sense of adventure has emerged now that child-rearing and career-building are (mostly) behind us.
All of the sudden, we’re in our Second Act!

Be the Intrepid Traveler You’ve Always Wanted to be
Looking for the perfect time to travel?
Let me introduce you to the magic of off-season and shoulder-season travel. As the founder of Second Act Travels blog and travel podcast, I know that these often-overlooked periods offer the best opportunities for unforgettable experiences. Off-season travel means cooler temperatures, lower airfares, and fewer crowds – a recipe for the ultimate travel adventure.
And trust me, if I can do it, so can you. Let’s embrace the journey and make the most out of our travels.
Second Act Travels is Born

Despite the abundance of travel blogs and stories from 20 and 30-year-olds, there’s not a lot out there for the midlife traveler. It’s important for us– the travelers over 50, retirees, and empty nesters, to have our voices heard. Hence, Second Act Travels was born.
If you’re like me, you’d like to take charge of your own travel adventures. No need for cookie-cutter tours or guides – we have the freedom and flexibility to create a truly original travel experience for ourselves. And with retirement on the horizon and the kids grown, why not indulge in our travel passions and take advantage of off-season travel opportunities? Don’t know where to begin planning your travel adventure? Fear not. I’ll teach you how to plan the perfect trip, providing inspiration and information, travel stories, tips, adventures and more.

More About Me
I grew up in upstate New York and my parents instilled a love of travel in me at a young age. My sense of adventure has only grown with time, and I’ve learned a lot about how to travel comfortably.
My two children are now grown and out of the house but my husband and I have instilled a love of travel in both of them. We traveled with them from the time they were each six weeks old.
It’s my goal to hike around the coast of England – even if I have to do it bit by bit. You can read my blog about hiking the Thames Path National Trail, which gave me the confidence to hike and the inspiration to set the goal of walking around England. Stay tuned!
Traveling solo is just as enjoyable as traveling with a partner. If you don’t have a partner with whom to travel, don’t worry. Just go!! My blog and podcast can give you the confidence to plan your trip.
